Brief
- Hook viewers immediately — the first 1–3 seconds should create curiosity, tension, surprise or a reason to keep watching.
- Find the story — prioritize strong opinions, surprising numbers, money, mistakes, failures, turning points, transformations, humor, emotion and unexpected lessons.
- Make every clip work standalone — assume the viewer has never heard of The King’s Court, The Gap King or the guest.
- Use the Key Moments sheets as starting points, not required clips — you are encouraged to find great moments we missed.
- Focus each clip on one clear story, idea or moment with a strong payoff.
- Edit for retention — remove unnecessary setup, pauses and dead space while preserving the speaker’s meaning.
- Create your own hook, pacing, captions, on-screen text, cuts, zooms and creative packaging.
- Use clear, accurate and readable on-screen captions.
- Make content, not ads — do not force podcast, sponsor or promotional messaging into the clip.
- Preserve context — never alter, fabricate or misrepresent what a guest said.
- Do not use misleading AI-generated audio, video or quotes.
- Do not repost another creator’s edit — submissions must be original edits of the provided source material.
- Include the persistent, subtle attribution YOUTUBE.COM/@THEGAPKING on every clip.
- Use the correct account when tagging in the post caption: Instagram @TheGapKing, TikTok @TheGapKing1, YouTube @TheGapKing.
- Most importantly: make something people can’t scroll past.
