Brief
- Hook in the first 1–3 seconds. Fast-paced editing, captions and callouts on screen.
- Minimum 30 seconds. Use only footage from the provided asset folder.
- Tone is documentary seriousness, not meme edits. It should feel like something you made because you cared, not like an ad.
- Every caption must include #FreeJimmyLai.
- Jimmy Lai founded Apple Daily, Hong Kong's most widely read pro-democracy newspaper, forced to close in 2021.
- He was arrested in 2020 under Hong Kong's National Security Law and sentenced to 20 years.
- He is 78, in poor health, and has spent nearly six years in solitary confinement.
- He had everything to lose. He spoke when staying quiet would have protected his wealth, comfort and status.
- Portray him as a hero of our time, not an elderly victim waiting to be rescued. His imprisonment shows the power and perceived danger of an independent voice.
- You can also build a clip around press coverage of his case, or around named advocates speaking out: Trump, Rubio, Starmer, Türk, Pelosi, Rick Scott, Cruz, Schumer, Johnson.
- Post must stay live for at least 90 days. Do not edit the caption or post settings after submission.
- Do not use AI-generated depictions of Jimmy Lai or AI watermarks.
- Do not fabricate quotes, court outcomes, or statements.
- Do not use Jimmy Lai's name or likeness in your username, handle, display name, bio, profile photo or banner.
- Do not imply you are run by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Jimmy Lai, his family, or the Support Jimmy Lai campaign.
- All views must be organic. No purchased or bot engagement, no pods, no paid boosting, no re-uploading the same clip across accounts you control.
